The Jordanian delegation left for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on Wednesday.

The French capital is set to host this major sporting event from August 28 to September 8.

The delegation includes eight athletes competing in weightlifting and athletics.

The team comprises Ahmad Hindi (shot put F34), Tharwat Al-Hajjaj (weightlifting 86kg), Asma Issa (weightlifting 79kg), Moataz Al-Junaidi (weightlifting 107kg), Jameel Al-Shibli (weightlifting +107kg), Omar Qradah (weightlifting 49kg), Abdel Karim Khattab (weightlifting 97kg), and Mohammad Al-Shneiti (weightlifting 54kg).

The coaching staff includes Mohammed Al-Harasis for athletics and Issa Hilal for weightlifting, with Ahmad Abu Rab as the team’s physiotherapist.

The delegation is led by Ibrahim Al-Halaik, a member of the Jordanian Paralympic Committee's board.

Administrative support is provided by Daoud Shihadeh and Alaa Asfour, with Ahmad Hayasat serving as the team’s physiotherapist.

The weightlifting team is expected to begin its competitions on Sept.4, with Qradah and Al-Shneiti (54kg) starting Jordan’s events.

Halaik thanked the Jordanian Olympic and Paralympic Committees for their support, which has enabled athletes to proudly represent Jordan internationally.

In Jordan’s previous participation at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, the Kingdom won four gold medals and one bronze.

Gold medals were earned by Qradah, Khattab, and Al-Shibli in weightlifting, and Hindi in shot put. Khatam Abu Awad secured the bronze in table tennis.
